the resemblance to Herb Sendek is uncanny – both made 5 straight NCAAs from ’02-’06 while only getting out of the 2nd round once.
That said making 5 straight tournaments and an Elite 8 at a football factory like Bama is nothing to sneeze at. The SEC West basketball programs are pretty much neglected aside from Arkansas.

Bammer and NC State seem like similar jobs in a way. Expectations from the fanbase are probably higher for both than they should be. I really didn’t realize he had 5 straight tourney teams there. Who’s the last legit player out of Bama, McDyess?

Is it true AD Yow said at the presser that Gary Williams sabotaged the coaching search?

Good hire in my opinion based on what had transpired so far. Gottfried is a decent coach and a really good recruiter.

Gerald Wallace, Mo Williams, and Ronald Steele was very legit before he got hurt.

Reader M- I am going to save the majority of my thoughts for tomorrow if TBL does a post on Yow’s comments. (Which I would imagine he does. Slow week after NCAA’s, a feud, mentions of a lawsuit) But Debbie has clearly not moved on from the comments that she made at the press conference. Myself and other MD fans told you this search would be very hard because of her reputation and it was. However, Debbie placed the blame on the difficulties on her former coach. Even if Gary was doing interviews on ESPN attacking Debbie she should have been able to find someone who wanted a $2 million a year contract to coach in the ACC.
Honestly hope that Gottfried does well. No animosity for you or any other NC State fans but the blame for this one is on Debbie. The perfect evidence for this is that she made todays press conference about a feud with Gary Williams and how that hurt the coaching search instead of being about the new basketball coach that she should be trying to get the fans and alumni excitd about.
