Pittsburgh Pirates Clinch 19th Consecutive Losing Season
Baseball September 16th. 2011, 12:16am
The Pittsburgh Pirates have now officially suffered 18 straight losing seasons. It was closer than last year when they clinched on August 20th. The Pirates clinched with a loss against the Cardinals on Wednesday.
While the Pirates had two games (They’re winning tonight!), they aren’t even in their natural habitat – the basement of the NL Central. With 15 games remaining on the schedule, the Pirates have already won 10 more games than in all of 2010. Hell, they’re safe from finishing in the basement. The Astros clinched that honor and I wrote a post about how there’s a chance for Houston to turn it around going forward. Pirates’ fans should be downright giddy right now.

Pittsburgh don’t give a fuck, long as the Steelers and Penguins keep winning and there’s a supply of IC on hand.
