Video: Plane Crashes Into Stands At Reno Air Show, Multiple People Dead

Horrible story out of Nevada as a plane crashed into the stands at an air show killing an unknown number of spectators. Via the Chicago Sun-Times:

Mike Draper, a spokesman for the air races, told The Associated Press that Jimmy Leeward was the pilot of the P-51 Mustang that crashed into the box seat area at the front of the grandstand about 4:30 p.m. He said he did not have any information on the number of injured.

Officials are reporting fatalities and critical injuries.

Update: This story is only going to get worse. Via FOX Reno:

5:48PM Witnesses describing the crash as a horrific scene, with multiple fatalities and body parts strewn across the tarmac at Reno-Stead Airport.

5:07PM A Source says at least 2. Reno Fire Marshall has reported at approximately 30 serious injuries.

Update 2: It was a WW II-era plane piloted by 74-year-old Jimmy Leeward. From RGJ.com:

“I saw body parts and gore like you wouldn’t believe it. I’m talking an arm, a leg,” Higgins said “The alive people were missing body parts. I am not kidding you. It was gore. Unbelievable gore.”
