Pennsylvania High School Football Brawl
Fighting, High School Sports September 20th. 2011, 2:45pmPennsylvania’s Hickory High School was finishing a 43-7 beating of Sharon high School when a brawl broke out. The teams first get into it in the 3rd when a fight breaks out after an extra point attempt.
It looks like the brawl started when a player, blocks an opposing player way out of bounds and won’t let him go on the wrong sideline. One of the kids on the sideline looks like he comes over and throws a punch. From MSNBC / AP:
Hermitage Superintendent Daniel Bell says one Hickory player was thrown off the team and seven others suspended for Friday’s game. Sharon Superintendent John Sarandrea says his suspended players will also receive in-school suspensions.
The game did not continue.
These schools have come a long way since their bands came together to play Thriller at halftime back in 2008.

If Michael Jackson were alive this brawl never would have happened.

Then why did it happen?

When I think of brawl, I do not think of this.
Another turd in the punch bowl from CRM.

One of our tailgating crew at PSU went to Hickory – he absolutely would have been cheapshotting people in the middle of this.

Why are there that many people on the sidelines? Does every player have an entourage? We played Arlington once in high school and the bus had to drop us off onto the track because they didn’t want us walking through the parking lot.

Time for somebody to invent a controversy like they did with OchoCinco last week.

sloooooooooooow day, huh?Football maps are out.
I was hoping to get Hou/NO and avoid the bar, but alas that’s not the case.

Could pick up once Duffy posts his ND entry. Those are usually fun.

Siiiiiiiiiick!!!
/ Waiting for Duffy’s West Va post & new super conference speculation.

Hope the Raiders don’t sell out against the Jets so I’ll get other options for the late game. Pitt being the SNF game will save me from having to spend money at a bar this week.

Buck & Aikman are calling Bears/Packers? Gross.

Mike Kafka never has, nor will he ever move a needle

SHOCKED that Buck/Aikman are going to cover the Packers/Bears instead of the NFC East Showdown of the Week.
Don’t like, however, that they have Packers/Bears and Falcons/Bucs on in the 3:15 window, but a bunch of craptacular games at noon.
Not shocked, however, that they sent Nantz and Simms to cover the Jets instead of Texans/Saints. Texans/Saints is probably the better game, but brand names win out.

Oh for fuck’s sake. I have to deal with these fuck sticks two weeks in a row?
September 20th, 2011 at 3:22 PM

I’m 2/2 while the Vikings are 0/2 so far this year on Sunday going to the bar to watch and getting way to drunk for a sunday. looks like I am going to have to go 3/3.

@Breesus: I enjoy your uneasiness with the media’s thirst for sizzle.
September 20th, 2011 at 3:23 PM
thank god for NFL Ticket…no need to watch the Jets game.
September 20th, 2011 at 3:26 PM
YOU’LL NEVER BELIEVE WHAT REX RYAN SAID THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Save that shit for the WW effing E.
September 20th, 2011 at 3:27 PM
I think the Saints had 5 or 6 nationally televised games last season and there was still bitching about the weeks they weren’t…it never ends
September 20th, 2011 at 3:29 PM
Agree completely. However the Raiders and Jets are an old AFL matchup, and Raiders do have larger fanbase, and well as long as fat Rex and Fraudchez are on the Jets, they’ll get the top booth.

I’m OK with this.
Philadelphia is going to hear enough of Joe Buck during the MLB Playoffs.
September 20th, 2011 at 3:34 PM
/shudders
//Joe Buck’s voice should have been lost forever
September 20th, 2011 at 3:35 PM
Not when it comes to actually going to games.
September 20th, 2011 at 3:36 PM
To be fair they all spent their money on tickets to go watch Dallas at San Francisco last week.
September 20th, 2011 at 3:39 PM
Cheapest ticket was $150, and that was just to sit in the light towers.
September 20th, 2011 at 3:41 PM
Really? I can get standing room for most Eagles games for $80.
September 20th, 2011 at 3:42 PM
That shit was crazy to watch on TV. I have not seen a Cowboys road crowd like that since the Cardinals still played at Sun Devil Stadium.
September 20th, 2011 at 3:44 PM
The Steelers tickets are the same thing, they’re really high because they don’t come out here all the time. You can get tickets to the Seahawks or Cardinals for $50-60, maybe even less as it gets closer.
September 20th, 2011 at 3:45 PM
Watch the Steelers game in December, it will be even worse. And I will be a part of it. I plan on asking for tickets for birthday/xmas. And even at 30 I’m spoiled by my grandma, so I’m pretty sure she’ll be taking care of it.
