LSU Beats Alabama 9-6 in Overtime, in Drivers Seat For BCS Title Game.

It was as grueling and competitive as expected. Though, I don’t think many will be clamoring for a rematch. LSU beat Alabama 9-6 in overtime in Tuscaloosa. Should the Tigers win out, they will be playing in the BCS title game, potentially against Oklahoma State, who survived 52-45 against Kansas State.
Winners: Both defenses. Trent Richardson – 28 touches for 169 total yards. Brad Wing and his pivotal punting.
Losers: Jarrett Lee who self destructed and soiled his whole “efficiency” stick with consecutive INTs. Alabama’s kickers who missed four field goals, three in regulation. Anyone forced to interact with Nick Saban in the next 48 hours.

Bama should have won that game.
But that’s part of why I hate college football. No one can kick a f-ing field goal, and the team that has the better athletes wins.

Kinda upset Bama lost. If Arkansas does beat LSU that means there’d be a 3 way tie for the division, Bama would play in the conference championship game, and LSU would get the at-large BCS invite. Leaving us to play in the Citrus Bowl against Penn State or Nebraska.

Both Lee and McCarron were pretty highly-touted recruits. Don’t like Lee. Think McCarron will end up being pretty good.

Russel Shepherd was a 5 star QB. Jarret Lee and Mettenberg 4 stars. JefFerson a 3.
McCaron a 4 star and Simms a 5 star.

I’m just saying Bama and LSU do recruit legit QB’s. They just don’t run the type of offense that the Matt Barkley’s of the world wanna run. Even with all-pro’s at RB and WR.

Saban ran Richardson until he was gassed and done. And for all the talk of athletes, these offenses were running like it was 1934. Very limited forward passes.
That said, I have to make LSU the preemptive favorites against anyone they face in a potential BCS title game (taking place at the Superdome). Okie State, Stanford and Boise State have not faced a defense of this caliber.

Think McCarron will end up being pretty good.
It hurts McCarron to not have a Julio Jones-type of WR. Maze feels more like Percy Harvin to me. He’s fast and talented, but not really a safety blanket for a young, inexperienced QB.

LSU should run the table now. I pray for Arkie, but I doubt anyone comes within 20 points of LSU again this year. That defense is a Sunday defense. The rest of FBS is playing flag football.
