Saturday Night Football: Oregon at Stanford
Cheerleaders, College Football November 12th. 2011, 7:15pm
The game we would have been anticipating all week. With USC ineligible the South is an afterthought, making this the de facto Pac 12 title game. Stanford and Oregon now have a clear picture of what they’re playing for. Streaks collide as Stanford has won 17-straight (last loss to Oregon) and Oregon has won 18-straight in the Pac 12 (last loss to Stanford).
Both teams are looking for a marquee win. Stanford barely made it past USC. Oregon lost to LSU, hasn’t played anyone else. Would a 1-loss Oregon (LSU) with a road win over Stanford and a Pac-12 title deserve a BCS place ahead of a 1-loss Alabama or Oklahoma? Would an undefeated Stanford get in over a one-loss Alabama?
This should be an offensive battle. Stanford has its power running game with a little bit of Luck. Oregon has it’s lightning-paced speed option running game. Both are means to the same end, exhausting the opponents’ defense mentally and physically and pouring on points in the second half. Whatever defense performs better probably wins this. Stanford needs to prevent big plays on the ground, forcing Oregon to work the ball down the field methodically and maximizing opportunities for them to make a mistake. The Ducks need to get pressure up front, force Stanford into three and outs and get their offense back on the field.
Prediction: Gone back and forth on this one for a couple of days. I think this comes down to the final possession. I trust Andrew Luck more than Darron Thomas on that final possession. Stanford 38-34 Oregon.

Yep.
November 12th, 2011 at 7:23 PM
I agree with jersey. I also thought it was a TBL post since that question was asked.
November 12th, 2011 at 7:31 PM
Stanford and Okie State will end playing each other if LSU keeps playing the way it is right now against WKU. Major, major letdown this week.
November 12th, 2011 at 7:39 PM
And if Stanford reaches the NC game, I hope they let the band accompany the team. Halftime would be even more entertaining than the annual Battle of the Bands at the Southern-Grambling game.
November 12th, 2011 at 7:40 PM
This A&M-K State game is insane. It’s on ESPNews right now, 50-47 in 4th OT.
November 12th, 2011 at 7:47 PM
There is NO WAY Arkansas can beat LSU, it’s impossible.
November 12th, 2011 at 7:48 PM
Wow, KState 53-50. They’ve played some very entertaining offense the last couple of weeks.
November 12th, 2011 at 7:50 PM
There is NO WAY Arkansas can beat LSU, it’s impossible.
Actually, the Hogs scare me more than Bama did. Ark-LSU is always a tough game.
At least LSU seems to be getting its crappy game out of its system tonight. I’m hoping The Hat starts kicking ass soon.
November 12th, 2011 at 7:53 PM
When Nick Saban sees how well WKU is moving the ball against LSU, he’s gonna fire his OC.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:03 PM
Remember…Saban wanted overtime last week.
/high fives Nada
//laughs
November 12th, 2011 at 8:06 PM
I really want to watch Oregon-Stanford, but LSU is making me stick around longer than I anticipated.

November 12th, 2011 at 8:09 PM
Go Ducks!
November 12th, 2011 at 8:13 PM
Is there any way Oregon could get a rematch with LSU in the NC if the Ducks win tonight and Okie State loses to OU? I wonder if they’d jump Bama.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:16 PM
oregon cheerleaders in a rout. they are just sluttay
but they would lose in a title match-up against the lsu golden girls
November 12th, 2011 at 8:19 PM
oregon cheerleaders in a rout. they are just sluttay

Could we have that as a Lingerie League matchup? There would be no losers in that scenario.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:21 PM
LSU is definitely benefitting from some home cookin’ tonight. Thank you, impartial SEC officiating crew.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:23 PM
And … the LSU defense comes to life.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:26 PM
that stanford field is so slippery, i lost my footing going from the kitchen to my chair.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:31 PM
idiot play by thomas. not sure what he was thinking. very lucky the whistle blew.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:36 PM
Damn. Luck not looking comfortable back there.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:39 PM
Someone on ESPN just noted that Penn State played its first game without JoePa as head coach since Truman was president. Damn, I didn’t know Truman was still president in 1966.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:42 PM
going to be very disappointed if Stanford loses.
forget the cover (-3), i want Stanford in the title game.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:46 PM
Jefferson/Lee had no problem with this Oregon defense.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:46 PM
Fuck Oregon and their unnecessary 2 pt conversions. Frauds
November 12th, 2011 at 8:48 PM
Lee had no problem with this Oregon defense
Jefferson was back in BR kicking himself in the head for missing that game.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:52 PM
Lot of people wrote off Richardson’s Heisman chances after Bama lost, even though he had a solid game. If Stanford loses here, does that do the same to Luck? Seems only fair.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:57 PM
depends. is Luck awful here? so far he hasn’t been very good.
interesting thought though, how wide open things are if Luck loses.
oh, wait, TD Stanford.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:58 PM
Luck was a clear frontrunner before the LSU game was even played, was he not?
November 12th, 2011 at 9:00 PM
A Stanford loss/Luck bad game should make it an interesting Heisman race, unless too many voters have already swallowed the Luck purple drank, er, kool-aid.
Could Keenum sneak in there and steal it? Or will horrific memories of Andre Ware in the NFL scuttle that possibility?
November 12th, 2011 at 9:04 PM
damn. James has some wheels.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:11 PM
LSU’s starting to put it away. Now I can watch Stanford-Oregon without worrying.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:13 PM
Even with the loss, Kellen Moore is still in the discussion
November 12th, 2011 at 9:13 PM
Oops, spoke to soon. LSU goes up 21-7, and WKU returns the kickoff to the LSU 25. It’s still a game.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:14 PM
I have a feeling Kellen Moore will end getting Manning’d. Great career, but always seemed to get overshadowed by someone else in each season.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:16 PM
people in Heisman discussion even if Stanford loses: Luck, Richardson, Moore, Weeden, Keenum.
Will college officiating ever improve? So many bad jobs today
November 12th, 2011 at 9:19 PM
This. I’m always the guy who says to be wary of win-loss records when giving individual awards in team sports but to be 46-3 thus far in your 4 year college career is just fucking crazy. Moore did everything he could to keep his team in the game today but fell short. Peterson made some dumb calls at the end that didn’t help but it all boils down to the kicker. If Kellen Moore were this good at a big time school, he would be the runaway Heisman winner.
/if you go to college to be a kicker and can’t make average field goals, just quit
November 12th, 2011 at 9:20 PM
Will college officiating ever improve? So many bad jobs today
Bad officiating is helping LSU stay out in front of WKU tonight. Several laughable spots against WKU and for LSU, and WKU just had 4th and goal at the goal line, and the whistle was blown while the runner was still on his feet fighting for yards.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:21 PM
I know Auburn is not great this year but did anyone expect Georgia to beat the living shit out of them today? I only watched the first half but Aaron Murray had his way with the Tigers defense. If Georgia can play that way against LSU, they may not win but it will be one hell of a close game.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:22 PM
And Jordan Jefferson grounds the ball in the end zone for a safety. 21-9 LSU.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:25 PM
If Kellen Moore were this good at a big time school…
If Kellen Moore were that good, he’d be at a big time school.
/ Said in jest, so don’t pile on
November 12th, 2011 at 9:25 PM
Nada, you’re a LSU fan. How good could that offense be with a guy like Kellen Moore, Landry Jones, Brandon Weeden, etc.. at QB?
November 12th, 2011 at 9:26 PM
I like WKU’s coach. A lot. I hope he doesn’t pull a Turner Gill and leave to a bottom feeder in a major conference before he’s ready
November 12th, 2011 at 9:28 PM
UCLA getting pounded by Utah, 28-6. That Neuheisel revival lasted all of one week.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:28 PM
ha! In all honesty, I am puzzled that many of these big time schools recruit allegedly great high school QBs from bigger schools in certain regions and they are barely average in college. Maybe some QBs are just as unlucky based on where they grew up as others are lucky in where they grew up. For instance, a lot of University of Miami players come from Northwestern high in Miami. That school produces a lot of talent but lately, that talent hasn’t amounted to jack shit for the Canes. Maybe it’s just the colleges don’t want to spend the time and money going to smaller towns where there isn’t as much reputation of a h.s. program even if they hear whispers of a stellar player at said school.
/food for thought
November 12th, 2011 at 9:29 PM
I know Arizona is bad this year but to lose to Colorado by almost 20 is disgraceful.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:30 PM
Trader, if LSU had a real QB … sigh. They have tons of talent at every other position. Lee hasn’t even gotten on the field tonight, he must really be deep in Les’s doghouse after those two picks last week.
Hopefully Roethlisberger Jr. can step in next season and make the O go.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:31 PM
sabres defense:hockey::texas tech defense:today’s effort against Oklahoma State. I’d like to thank my hockey team for playing consistent non-defense and creating 2 on 1s and breakaways for the opponent.
/let up 6 consecutive goals over 2 periods to Bruins
//pass me a case of beer
November 12th, 2011 at 9:32 PM
Kellen Moore didn’t even get a look at Washington State. He only got offers from Boise, eastern Washington, and either Idaho or Montana or something. That’s crazy to me. I mean, he’s not good enough for Washington State?
November 12th, 2011 at 9:32 PM
incredible pass and catch, Luck to Fleener.
STanford needs a TD here
November 12th, 2011 at 9:33 PM
I figure AJ McCarron could be good for Bama in another year but the only SEC QB I’ve seen be good on a fairly decent basis this year is Murray. I think John Brantley could be good in a power offense that didn’t have to rely on undersized speedsters like he has at Florida.
I wonder how good Aaron Rodger’s brother really is at Vanderbilt. He lit up Kentucky today but then again..it’s Kentucky.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:33 PM
Jose – Moore’s like 5-foot-10. Maybe 6-feet. Not a traditional QB size.
just fits the system perfectly.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:34 PM
I like WKU’s coach. A lot.
Agreed. Since he’s an alum and former player there, I think he’ll stick around a little longer than another coach might.
BTW, apparently Rich Rod was in the Tulane suite when they got blasted by Houston on Thursday night. I’ve heard the Greenies are making a hard play to get him back. I’m surprised he’s even listening after the way he got backstabbed there in 1998.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:36 PM
And people wonder why Washington State is consistently terrible. I’ve seen QBs in I-AA that are better than some division 1 guys. Like Vez said recently, the star rating system for prospects is highly flawed and unreliable. You go to a powerhouse football program in Florida, Texas, California, and such, you’ll tend to get a higher rating than a better player at a lesser program

Man, I so want LSU to close this out so I can switch to Herbie and Brent. I mean, Oregon and Stanford.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:39 PM
almost as ridiculous a name as the St. John’s basketball player with the first name of God’sgift
November 12th, 2011 at 9:41 PM
Either Barkevious or Vontaze Burfict would win the Heisman if it were awarded for awesome names. With Cincinnati’s Munchie Legaux coming in third as a freshman.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:41 PM
OMG Coach K is one step closer to the wins record! SLURP SLURP SLURP! Let’s forget that his team played like shit yesterday against a great mid-major team and should have lost! BFD they played Presbyterian Blue Hose today and trounced them! SLURP SLURP SLURP! He’s the Best! SLURP

Tebow’s dad does not appreciate the taking of His son’s true name in vain.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:44 PM
1. How is Notre Dame the home team at FedEx field?
2. How did Maryland fall so hard after being an 8 win team last year and bringing back nearly all the integral parts of their team? Did replacing Fridg with Edsall really set the team back that much? It’s mystifying.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:44 PM
sadly, looks like the speed will beat Stanford. Oregon hasn’t done much on offense, but it had 2 enormous plays, both TDs. gotta figure we’ll see more of those in the 2nd half.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:45 PM
Rooting so hard for Okie State to run the table. I do not want to see Oregon flame out in the title game again for the second year in a row. I think LSU would kick their ass even more
November 12th, 2011 at 9:46 PM
The little I was able to watch of Oregon-Stanford was pretty entertaining. I think that one’s going down to the wire. Luck seems to have gotten his feet back under him.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:48 PM
Ole Piss losing to La. Tech 10-7 at home. Oh, I’m going to miss having Houston Nutt in the SEC West.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:48 PM
If luck had guys as talented as the weapons on Oregon, he’d be tearing the field up right now.
/then again, Stanford doesn’t recruit guys with a 1.0 GPA
November 12th, 2011 at 9:49 PM
It’s all good. You’ll have Mike Sherman to pick on next year. Texas A&M is a joke
November 12th, 2011 at 9:50 PM
/then again, Stanford doesn’t recruit guys with a 1.0 GPA
Hell, LSU couldn’t field a team if it didn’t enroll those guys.
/ Actually knew a guy who got into LSU with a 7 on his ACT
November 12th, 2011 at 9:52 PM
Texas A&M is a joke
Actually, it’s Sherman who’s the joke. He was the same in Green Bay. Plus, and I say this from personal interaction, he’s a complete asshole.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:53 PM
I want Stanford to lose this game because I think the Pac 12 is overrated, but hopefully that doesn’t propel Oregon into a shot at the title.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:55 PM
Okie State-OU should be a helluva game, and I think the Sooners will win.
LSU is going to win by a big margin tonight, but there are some concerns there. WKU played them tough until getting worn down in the third quarter. Arkansas will be a handful.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:56 PM
Also OK St v Houston in a bowl would be awesome, so I guess I’m rooting for Oklahoma to beat them
November 12th, 2011 at 9:56 PM
Agreed on the overrated part.
Hey Duffy, Why do you think the BCS would take a 2nd Big Ten team as an at-large bid?
/reads twitter, responds here
November 12th, 2011 at 9:59 PM
I don’t know. You can’t really say “look how badly Oklahoma played against TT and look what OSU did to TT” but still, it’s hard to ignore those facts. Oklahoma doesn’t have Ryan Broyles the rest of the year and he is Landry Jones’ safety net when the lesser receivers don’t step up. I think it’ll be a shootout but since it is in Stillwater, OSU will win (yes i know OU beat OSU last year in Stillwater)
November 12th, 2011 at 9:59 PM
this whole season has been a shitshow.
they made oregon state, utah, and now colorado look good
November 12th, 2011 at 10:00 PM
I know Houston is 99% unlikely to get an at-large BCS bid but to see them vs Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl would be fantastic
November 12th, 2011 at 10:00 PM
I was hoping Greg Childs would somewhat resemble his old self by the last game of the season, but alas I fear that’s now a pipe dream. Still, Arkansas will have the best receiving core LSU’s secondary has seen all season, and the D line Is so much better now with Bequette back. I don’t think Arkansas is the same team as they were early in the season against Bama, but the game being in Baton Rouge and not Little Rock doesn’t help
November 12th, 2011 at 10:02 PM
arent they ranked 11 right now? I think if they make the top 12 they have to get one. Isn’t that how that works?
November 12th, 2011 at 10:02 PM
I think they’re a lot more likely now that Boise is gone (assuming they go undefeated of course). Also, Gundy has never beaten OU, and you’d have to think he’ll do so eventually. That should be a good game.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:02 PM
Syracuse was 5-2 and had just made West Virginia look horrendous. They then lost to inferior teams in Louisville, Connecticut (a team that lost to Iowa State of all people), and South Florida. USF has a good QB in BJ Daniels but they hadn’t won a conference game this year until last night. from 5-2 and maybe a good bowl prospect to 5-5 and maybe another pinstripe bowl game against a mediocre big 12 team. At least Syracuse basketball and lacrosse are good.
/moral victory
November 12th, 2011 at 10:04 PM
I was listening to local radio and some asshole thought if Michigan won out they would get a BCA at-large bid. Oh really? There are only 2. No way they would get in over Alabama, OU/OSU, Stanford/LSU etc..
November 12th, 2011 at 10:04 PM
Oklahoma doesn’t have Ryan Broyles the rest of the year
That’s a very salient point, and I can see your take on the matchup. I think OU has the better defense by far despite giving up 41 to TTech.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:05 PM
Quack, Quack, motherfuckas!
November 12th, 2011 at 10:05 PM
Jose – you have to be in the top 12 to be eligible for a BCS game but that doesn’t mean they have to take you especially if you are 11 or 12 (unless you’re Notre Dame at 12 and then the BCS will give you any sexual favor you want, and they’ll put you in a game only to get destroyed by the 2nd best SEC team). If Houston finishes undefeated, I think they’ll be top 10 in BCS and will get a fiesta bowl spot. the Conference USA title game against Southern Miss will not be easy. USM is a one loss team and ranked (should be fun)
November 12th, 2011 at 10:05 PM
Stanford/Oregon my mistake. Didn’t even realize I typed that.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:06 PM
Also OK St v Houston in a bowl would be awesome, so I guess I’m rooting for Oklahoma to beat them
awesome….like the NHL All Star Game
November 12th, 2011 at 10:08 PM
I was told the BCS would always want two Big 10 teams because those teams make the bowls the most money. When was the last time the Big 10 didn’t have 2 teams in?
November 12th, 2011 at 10:08 PM
Houston is 99% unlikely to get an at-large BCS bid
That’s the penalty for playing in CUSA. Same thing happened to Tulane and Marshall when they went undefeated, and both were ranked in the top 10. Of course, Marshall was in the MAC at the time they went 12-0.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:09 PM
Unless Alabama loses to Auburn, I think they’ll get an at large bid. for 10 spots we will have: ACC winner (clemson/va tech), Big East winner (i dont care anymore), Big 10 winner, LSU and Bama (or UGA if UGA miraculously beats LSU), Oregon and Stanford, Big 12 winner, Houston, and maybe Oklahoma.
I don’t want UGA to win because that would mean 3 SEC teams would go to BCS bowls and fuck Alabama.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:09 PM
Stanford down 2 TDs basically needs a score and a stop or its over.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:11 PM
Luck stays another year, to gain vengeance on the…
The Quack!
and to stay the hell out of Indianapolis
November 12th, 2011 at 10:12 PM
True but I think this Houston team is far superior than those teams were in their respective years. It’s also a ton better than that fraud Hawaii team from a few years back.
Jose – you’re probably right. BCS doesn’t care if an average Big Ten team with a good record gets waxed or underperforms. Straight cash homey
November 12th, 2011 at 10:12 PM
No, Houston gets an auto-bid if they’re top12. And with how bad the BEeast is, top 16
November 12th, 2011 at 10:12 PM
come on Luck, get ‘em in the end zone here
November 12th, 2011 at 10:13 PM
And for all you Sun Belt fans out there … the dream ends for U-L U Pick ‘Em South. The Cajuns lost to Arkansas State and will sit home come bowl time, thus keeping their streak alive of never going to a bowl.
To be honest, their bowl is next week. They close out at Arizona, and could conceivably win that game.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:14 PM
Luck stays another year
How fucked would either Indy or Miami be if that actually happened? Suck for Luck and end up with Matt Barkley.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:16 PM
My biggest beef with Heisman talk is the overreaction to a team’s loss when a candidate plays well. Andrew Luck could throw for 300 yards tonight while his defense gets shredded and a lot of fucking dumbass “pundits” would want to diminish his chances for the trophy because the team lost. It’s such irrational bullshit. Judge a player on how he plays the entire season, not one game. That’s why I was so frustrated at national media questioning Trent Richardson’s heisman “viability” after last week’s game. He’s the only mofo who did a damn thing for Alabama last week and in many games this year.
fuck all awards (heisman, oscar, grammys, emmys, Herbies)
November 12th, 2011 at 10:16 PM
And you’re crazy if you think that Michigan wouldn’t get in if they won out. Don’t they have the largest alumni base in the world or some shit?
November 12th, 2011 at 10:17 PM
I would love for Andrew Luck to get on camera and say “Suck my balls, mother fuckers!”
November 12th, 2011 at 10:18 PM
I think that’s Texas or OSU. Not sure though.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:18 PM
the radio guys were talking about this game. louisiana lafayette could come in here, take their 750k payday AND win the game.
arizona has completely given up. this would be icing on the poop cake of a season
November 12th, 2011 at 10:18 PM
but but..they lost to Iowa! Iowa!
/SC’d
November 12th, 2011 at 10:18 PM
@TJ
in that case Robert Griffin III should be in the top 5. He is that team, I’ve seen better defense played in the MAC than what Baylor trots out. And somehow they’re ranked in the top 25
November 12th, 2011 at 10:19 PM
Jose, thanks for that clarification on bcs qualifying.
I may be a fan of a big east team, but forget the conference having an automatic bid. disgraceful football
November 12th, 2011 at 10:19 PM
saw immortals yesterday. recommended if you like gore. very gory, quality, unique kills. otherwise, more homoerotic than top gun and 3000 combined
November 12th, 2011 at 10:20 PM
Michigan won’t get in over a 1 loss BIG 12, PAC 12 or SEC team.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:20 PM
washed it down with some puss in boots tonight
/staying current
November 12th, 2011 at 10:21 PM
Hey, I wouldn’t argue with RGIII being a candidate. It’s not a QBs fault when the defense is garbage yet they get chewed up and spit based on this false standard that the QB has to be penalized if the team loses no matter how great he performs.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:21 PM
I could see both MSU and Whisky both making the BCS though.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:22 PM
Didn’t a 9-3 Illinois team get into a BCS game over an 11-1 Boston College one year? For a non-profit organization, the NCAA seems to be more interested in making profits than rewarding the best teams.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:23 PM
Come tomorrow night, I would be perfectly fine if Oregon was at #3 in the BCS. Alabama looks like garbage at Miss. State even being up 17-7. I want to see it as LSU, Okie State, Oregon, Oklahoma, Alabama, and everyone else
November 12th, 2011 at 10:24 PM
louisiana lafayette could come in here, take their 750k payday AND win the game
If ULL beats them, Arizona should just drop football.
And Trader, you elucidated exactly what I think of the entire Heisman process. I only regret the current line of thinking didn’t apply when Hornung beat out Johnny Majors while the Irish went 2-8.
/ Obligatory Notre Dame rip of the night, and didn’t even bring up dead interns or anything like that
November 12th, 2011 at 10:24 PM
If Wisconsin doesn’t play in the Big 10 title game, I think they’ll play in the Outback/Gator/some other lame bowl

We are soon to be an Oklahoma victory over Ok St from complete BCS chaos once again. Watching Stanford, they have seemed to struggle enough against Oregon and USC offensively it makes you wonder how bad they would look against LSU/Bama.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:25 PM
I would take that bet, but there’s no way Michigan doesn’t lose again so the point is moot. But we can revisit this if somehow Michigan gets a gift from god.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:26 PM
yeah, the NCAA definitely needs to have its non-profit, tax-exempt status revoked.
Signed,
real worthwhile non-profits that help people like United Way, Red Cross, Salvation Army, etc..
November 12th, 2011 at 10:26 PM
I want Michigan to play Arkansas.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:26 PM
at least neither one of us will have to endure this much longer with WVU & Cuse leaving soon.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:27 PM
as impressive as oregon looks tonight. i’ve already seen what happens when they go up against a real defense. i don’t want to see them play lsu again.
hope oklahoma state goes undefeated
November 12th, 2011 at 10:27 PM
RobJules, Stanford would look better against a slow, average offensive team like Alabama. They obviously would struggle with Bama’s defense but Stanford’s defense could deal with Bama’s offense (pass offense for sure..trent richardson is another story)
November 12th, 2011 at 10:28 PM
If that happens in a BCS game so do I. Arkansas needs to get their 1st win under their belt. But if not in the BCS I’d rather we saw Texas in the Cotton. Cause fuck Texas.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:29 PM
at this point, Syracuse would be a low end ACC team. They could beat the likes of Duke, Maryland, NC State, and Wake Forest (they beat WF to start the year), but teams like Clemson, FSU, VaTech would destroy them by 15-20 points
November 12th, 2011 at 10:30 PM
How did Texas only score 5 points on Missouri…5!!!!!!!! Missouri’s defense isn’t that good. I know Texas QBs are bad but damn, that’s more embarrassing than Texas having a losing record last year.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:31 PM
Alabama looks like garbage at Miss. State even being up 17-7
Both LSU and Bama are still hungover from that bar brawl last weekend. It took LSU three quarters to pull away from a Sun Belt team.
I was joking earlier about it, but now I’m wondering if Saban actually might junk his OC after the season.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:31 PM
Arkansas-LSU in two weeks is going to be an awesome game.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:32 PM
Why the hell is Texas so shitty?
November 12th, 2011 at 10:32 PM
Saban definitely wants to junk his kicker. I hope LSU hangs 40 on MSU next week. MSU’s defense is bad. I saw the game against Auburn. MSU’s defense is on par with a bad pac12/big 12 defense when it plays a competent offense
November 12th, 2011 at 10:33 PM
I can dream.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:34 PM
this field is absolute crap. yet … only stanford guys are slipping
November 12th, 2011 at 10:35 PM
Oregon has proved to be by far the more athletic team. Now I’m curious to see, if Luck is the leader that people say he is, if Luck can lead this Stanford team back into this game. It can be done, still LOTS of time left. If they punch it in here … they are in buisness. Also, while your watching the game, if you get a chance check out a couple posts on my buddies’ blog. It’s good material, I think you all will like what you see. http://wp.me/p1TazZ-1dQ
November 12th, 2011 at 10:36 PM
Why the hell is Texas so shitty?
And Texas obliterated TTech last week, which makes OU’s loss to Tech all the more puzzling.
BYW Trader, LSU plays Ole Piss next week, not Cowbell Hell.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:37 PM
this field is absolute crap. yet … only stanford guys are slipping
Cosmic payback for watering down the field to offset Ducks’ speed?
November 12th, 2011 at 10:39 PM
refs are going to have to work REALLY hard to get Stanford back in this game.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:39 PM
can the defense get a stop?
November 12th, 2011 at 10:41 PM
Also, when Dan Mullen leaves Starkville for a job not set in Green Acres territory, I recommend this guy as his replacement.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:43 PM
@Nada – HAHAHAHA
November 12th, 2011 at 10:43 PM
Anyone know much about the Clemson OC(Morris)? Read a rumor that OSU is looking to hire him as OC and Meyer as HC. That would be sweet.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:44 PM
La. Tech 27, Ole Piss 7
I thought Nutt would go out with a bang, but apparently he’s adopted the Suck for Luck strategy for some god-only-knows-why reason.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:44 PM
I knew this would happen to Stanford. Beating a shitty VA Tech last year didn’t fool me.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:46 PM
B1G refs could make it happen.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:46 PM
At this point, if Okie State comes up short, an Oregon-LSU rematch would be much more appealing than LSU-Bammer v2.0.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:49 PM
Fresno 38, NM State 38
How did Pat Hill let the Bulldogs fall so far? What’s the story out there? Is he on the way out?
November 12th, 2011 at 10:52 PM
If LaMichael James hadn’t missed all that time injured, he could well be the Heisman frontrunner now.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:53 PM
So Potato Tech loses and looks like Stanford will too. Doesn’t get any better than that. Fuck small conference schools and west coast schools.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:53 PM
This is exciting.
I’m not as confident about the game tomorrow as I was a couple weeks ago though.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:55 PM
His situation is similar to Ingram’s a couple years ago when the backup is arguable better. I know he won the Heisman anyway but still.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:57 PM
This is exciting.
Not discounting the post itself, but fuck Florio and his fucking pathetic website. I believe he is from the same part of West Virginia as Saban, and they will both end up in the same fiery pit in the end. Only Saban doesn’t mind, being the Belichick of college football.
November 12th, 2011 at 10:58 PM
I hear ya, those offenses wouldn’t really have the ability to blow them out but their defensive fronts would shut down Stanfords run game and if Oregon can get to Luck I’m sure they would. Doesn’t look like one of those matchups is gna happen tho…
November 12th, 2011 at 10:59 PM
His situation is similar to Ingram’s a couple years ago
I am so bummed that Ingram is hurt. The Saints did get Ivory back, but they seem to plow through running backs the way Denver did under Shanahan.
November 12th, 2011 at 11:07 PM
Fantasy question for my 2 QB league. Dalton or Hasselbeck as my 2nd QB?
November 12th, 2011 at 11:08 PM
If 1-loss OU beats undefeated OSU in the last game of the year (for them), I think OU would be in the title game ahead of rematches against either Oregon or Bama.
November 12th, 2011 at 11:10 PM
Hasselbeck, easy. Dalton is gearing to face Pitt and Baltimore twice, and Houston to close out the year. He has better weapons than Hasselbeck, but up until this point he hasn’t had to play from far behind like he might have to going forward.
November 12th, 2011 at 11:10 PM
If 1-loss OU beats undefeated OSU in the last game of the year (for them), I think OU would be in the title game ahead of rematches against either Oregon or Bama
Seems to me Oregon’s loss to LSU would give them the edge over OU’s loss to TTech, at least with the voters.
November 12th, 2011 at 11:17 PM
Wouldn’t Bama’s loss be the best, to use the same argument people trumpeted for the OSU-Michigan rematch in ’06?
November 12th, 2011 at 11:20 PM
I agree with the Bama loss being best, but so many seem opposed to a Bama-LSU rematch that I think it wouldn’t happen.
November 12th, 2011 at 11:20 PM
I thought Oregon had a black kicker for a minute, but I think he might just be Samoan.
November 12th, 2011 at 11:22 PM
Shit out of Luck.
November 12th, 2011 at 11:23 PM
And, game over.
November 12th, 2011 at 11:24 PM
I am equally opposed to an Oregon LSU rematch
Then again, I’m opposed to LSU winning the game they have 2 weeks from now as well.
November 12th, 2011 at 11:24 PM
Though it wouldn’t do Arkansas any good regardless.
November 12th, 2011 at 11:25 PM
LOL Stanford
November 12th, 2011 at 11:25 PM
Cry Stanford fans. Cry.
November 12th, 2011 at 11:29 PM
hahaha what is that, 3 stanford turnovers in <2 minutes?
November 12th, 2011 at 11:30 PM
Stanford’s coach has the Jim Caldwell look down pat.
November 12th, 2011 at 11:34 PM
I’m gonna be at Ark-LSU in two weeks. Makes me nervous, but I can’t wait.
November 12th, 2011 at 11:41 PM
28 year olds shouldn’t be eligible to win Heismans.
November 12th, 2011 at 11:45 PM
28 year olds shouldn’t be eligible to win Heismans
Chris Weinke disagrees.
/ Yeah, he was 26, I know
