Two guys dressed as past-their-prime members of an unknown boy band attended the Pistons-Mavs game in Detroit last night and miraculously wound up sitting right next to Delonte West, and a seat away from a clearly amused Vince Carter. The photo says it all. What’s most surprising is that this went down at the Palace of all places. Not exactly the first arena one might think of where players and fans would merrily sit next to one another.

But late last night on SportsCenter Linda Cohn allowed us to breathe again, explaining that both the home and away benches simply have four VIP seats at the end of each bench. Somehow, likely through the magic of wearing sunglasses indoors and delivering artful fist-bumps, the animated duo managed to work their way up a bit. Nonetheless, Pistons play-by-play guy George Blaha was as confused as everyone else:

Below is a higher quality shot without a laughing Vince Carter, but with a clear look at the all important pinky ring. The Pistons lost 100-86. The bros hopefully won a night out with Delonte West:
