The Devils and Rangers Had a Rare Double Fight After the Opening Faceoff
Fighting, NHL, Video February 8th. 2012, 2:18pm
When the puck dropped to start last night’s Rangers – Devils game, the gloves also dropped as Jersey’s Cam Janssen and Eric Boulton squared off with New York’s Mike Rupp and Brandon Prust. The fight set the tone for the game and inspired the game-winning goal that New Jersey’s David Clarkson would score with eight minutes left. From NHL.com:
“Those two guys aren’t fighting for fun,” Clarkson said. “Boults and Janny did unbelievable jobs. They got our bench going right away. I think that’s one of the hardest jobs in hockey. People always say fighting this and fighting that, but that showed it right there. Those guys weren’t fighting for each other or for themselves. They were fighting for the team and to set a tone.”
The game would go on as Henrik Lundqvist and Martin Brodeur stopped a combined 51 of 52 shots on goal. If it wasn’t for that double fight, who knows if Clarkson would have scored that goal.

They were fighting for the team and to set a tone.
Bullshit.
Four meatballs (or three depending on how Prust is viewed) throwing punches less than 2 seconds into the game proves nothing, sets no tone, needs to be gone from the game.
Shame on Tortorella and Deboer.

Cam Janssen is a waste of a roster spot. Nice shutout for Marty though. I hope he retires after this season. He really should not play another season. No need.

That calls to mind the Avalanche-Red Wings game where Claude Lemieux and Darren McCarthy dropped gloves at the start of the game.

Moleman, as I asked in the Eli post, should England go after Mourinho, as he might be looking to leave Real, or is he interested in only club positions?

Can’t find it, I think it was from their episode last October based on when some meatheads were talking about how the players should shut up on this forum

They won’t.
There is zero chance anyone other than Englishmen get considered for it now.

It will be Redknapp. He will be caretaker until the summer and continue to manage Spurs, then once the season is over will become full manager of England and leave Spurs.
Modric and Bale will use it as an excuse to leave.
Spurs will be finished.

Speaking of Darren McCarty (no H, dude), I saw him on that Detroit pawn show last night. He looked absolutely horrible. He wasn’t fat but he has long hair and a receding hairline, he doesn’t bother to wear fake teeth, and he looked like he hadn’t slept in days. It was really depressing.
