Mark Sanchez Asked Santonio Holmes to be His Valentine
NFL February 15th. 2012, 10:07am
Late last night, after Valentine’s Day had officially ended in the East and Central time zones, Mark Sanchez sent his wide receiver Santonio Holmes a tweet, inquiring if he wanted to be his Valentine.
Sanchez and Holmes were notoriously feuding by the end of the season, or at least Holmes was not happy with his quarterback, with Holmes famously sitting out the end of the Jets season as they attempted a comeback against Miami.
So many ways to go with this. I mean, this Valentine’s “pass” at Holmes was late, so is it supposed to be symbolic of their on the field relationship? What do we make of the shortbread cookies, hardly the traditional Valentine’s offering? Is Sanchez calling Holmes his “shorty”? As of right now, Santonio Holmes has yet to respond.

Should have just bought him some weed – Santonio loves to smoke up.

I guess Upton is back on the market. She must be too old for him now.

When did Wayne Chrebet get his own line of dessert?

Jesse Jane, Jeremy Lin, Kate Upton, Jeremy Lin, Mark Sanchez, Jeremy Lin, dunks, Jeremy Lin…how about we have an old fashioned TBL movie post to break up some of this monotony.
February 15th, 2012 at 10:15 AM
The fuck?
If there’s one thing worse to talk about than the Nets point guard its these Jabronis right here
February 15th, 2012 at 10:16 AM
Samoas > Tagalongs > Thin Mints > Trefoils
February 15th, 2012 at 10:17 AM
Highest salary for a QB in the league last year and you bought shortbread cookies?
February 15th, 2012 at 10:19 AM
Samoas are the best!
February 15th, 2012 at 10:21 AM
Samoas are the best!
They really are — you could talk me into Thin Mints being better than TagAlongs, but nothing takes the crown from Samoas
February 15th, 2012 at 10:21 AM
Highest salary for a QB in the league last year
Is this true? Sanchez is the highest paid QB in the league???
February 15th, 2012 at 10:21 AM
Knowing CRMs taste in movies we should have a Ghost Rider 2 review later in the week.

February 15th, 2012 at 10:25 AM
They restructured his deal to allow them to sign some other guys. His $14.75mil was 2nd behind Peyton last year I believe. Next year he drops to $8mil though.
February 15th, 2012 at 10:25 AM
Mark Sanchez – 2011 Salary $17,250,000 – Base Salary $14,750,000 – Signing Bonus $0 – Other Bonuses $2,500,000 – Contract 5 years / $50,500,000
That is hilarious.
February 15th, 2012 at 10:25 AM
Speaking of movies…Bay signed on to direct a movie I won’t see-Transformers 4 as well as a movie with Marky Mark and The Rock about some bodybuilders who were into extortion and kidnapping.
February 15th, 2012 at 10:26 AM
And then it drops to $4mil in 2013.
February 15th, 2012 at 10:26 AM

Who do you recast in the remake of Necessary Roughness? Kate Upton as the new Kathy Ireland?
February 15th, 2012 at 10:26 AM
good post
thanks, man.

Are there any movies worth talking about, or would this be an Oscar preview? I’d be down for an Oscar preview even though I’ve only seen 3 of the 9 Best Picture nominees.

I think you use Quantum Leap dude again for the QB. That would be freaking awesome. Speaking of that guy, I had Major League III: Back to the Minors on the other night just to see what the hell was going on with it. Wow, what an awful movie.

Ouch! Not fair!

Did you just call the venerable Scott Bakula the “quantum leap dude”?

Yeah, or we could have each TBL contributor pen a short writeup of their favorite movies and we could have a discussion in the comments section of who exactly has the worst taste and why.

Is this the post to also talk about new music? Really digging the new Heartless Bastards album as well as the new one from Dr Dog.

Yes, I’m terrible with actor names. Reminds me…first time I saw a movie with my in-laws, I discovered they’re the people in the theater that see an actor, turn to each other and loudly whisper – “isn’t that the guy from such and such…what’s his name…David something…no…that’s the guy from…etc.”
February 15th, 2012 at 10:34 AM
DAMMIT I THOUGHT IT WAS TBL POSTING THIS.
The cumulative effect of all the Lin posts plus former Sanchize posts plus this got to me.

Predator would actually be in my second wave as far as pure enjoyment goes. I would also have Traffic up there as I loved the way it was filmed.
February 15th, 2012 at 10:58 AM
All his movies. Hard to do this off the top of your head.
Exit Through The Gift Shop was awesome.
February 15th, 2012 at 11:01 AM
Predator aside, favorite movie is too hard to answer. I prefer more specific questions…like it’s a Sunday afternoon, you woke up late with a hangover, you just drove to Whataburger and got a No. 2, you’re laying on the couch dipping fries into the ketchup packet you’re balancing on your chest…what movie do you watch then?
February 15th, 2012 at 11:01 AM

predator.
February 15th, 2012 at 11:01 AM
Favorite movie is such a hard question.
you have to break it up. Favorite bad movie, favorite action movie (non-heist), favorite action movie (heist), favorite movie you thought for sure you’d hate, favorite movie you’d never watch again, etc.
February 15th, 2012 at 11:01 AM

Three of my go-to movies that I always find myself watching on TV should I stumble across them are Air Force One, The Fugitive and any Indian Jones movie. Apparently I have a thing for Harrison Ford.
February 15th, 2012 at 11:10 AM
Billy Madison.
If I died on my couch with that whataburger, and Billy Madison came on, I am sure my body would reanimate itself enough to turn that shit off. I have that much faith in myself.
Also, dying with a Whataburger is a great way to go out.
February 15th, 2012 at 11:10 AM
Indiana Jones, not Indian Jones (though I’m sure those are good too).
February 15th, 2012 at 11:10 AM
I usually just rewatch a MST3k episode instead of watching a movie. I have a few hundred movies on my computer that I haven’t watched yet.

February 15th, 2012 at 11:14 AM
my ideal way to die would be someone holding a gun to my head on the 1st tee and saying “if you don’t shoot 68, im going to kill you.” then, i play the best round of my life, hit the greatest shots ever, am totally engrossed in shooting that number to save my life, and just as that ball is rolling over the edge of the cup for 68 and i get that rush of adrenaline, i get shot in the back of the head and never see it coming.
February 15th, 2012 at 11:14 AM
Inglorious Basterds has infinite re-watch value for me. Few Good Men and The Fugitive are instant stop and watch.

Great now I have to think of a new way to kill Spence.
February 15th, 2012 at 11:17 AM

February 15th, 2012 at 11:23 AM
I plan on giving him a gun with one blank bullet in it and locking him in a room with the Beatles playing on loop for eternity. once he resigns himself to death, he’ll try to eat the bullet, only it’s a blank and he’s still alive. then, we’ll get to sreally ee how creative he is.
February 15th, 2012 at 11:24 AM
easy…disassemble the gun, sharpen the spring against the floor, desk or chair or whatever, then cut my wrists. down the river not across the stream.
February 15th, 2012 at 11:27 AM
That would be pretty impressive after you were blinded by the blank.
February 15th, 2012 at 11:28 AM
