UFC on FUEL TV Starts With a Bang Tonight
UFC February 15th. 2012, 6:00pm
It’s only a matter of time until we reset the pay per views to UFC on PPV 1 or UFC Not On A Fox-Affiliated Channel 1. UFC on FOX. UFC on FX. UFC on FUEL TV. And don’t get any of those confused with UFC on FUEL Prelims or whenever the PPV prelims move to FX because nobody has FUEL TV. And must I continue to capitalize FUEL? Spike didn’t mind when I used lowercase letters. This is bullshit.
This is a weird card. It’s on the Fuel wasteland on a Wednesday night, but it’s also pretty stacked. Ellenberger – Sanchez is your classic lightweight contender fight. By “classic” I, of course, mean neither guy is within a year of a title shot. Should be a hell of a fight though.
There are 8 guys with 1-2 UFC bouts under their belt. These are guys with nothing but promise and upside. We could have future champions here folks! Among those “new guys” is Ivan Menjivar who has career losses to Georges St. Pierre, Urijah Faber and Matt Serra. That’s a fun fact.
The fight I’m most looking forward to is Dave Herman versus Stefan Struve. Herman’s UFC debut against John-Olav Einemo was a club-banger ending in a brutal KO win. Now he gets Stefan Struve who is a physical freak who refuses to have a boring fight. This fight is ending in a glorious knockout.
Jake Ellenberger (26-5, 5-1 UFC) vs. Diego Sanchez (23-4, 12-4 UFC)
Dave Herman (21-2, 1-0 UFC) vs. Stefan Struve (22-5, 6-3 UFC)
Ronny Markes (12-1, 1-0 UFC) vs. Aaron Simpson (11-2, 6-2 UFC)
Philip De Fries (8-0, 1nc, 1-0 UFC) vs. Stipe Miocic (7-0, 1-0 UFC)
T.J. Dillashaw (4-1, 0-1 UFC) vs. Walel Watson (9-3, 1-1 UFC)
John Albert (7-1, 1-0 UFC) vs. Ivan Menjivar (23-8, 2-0 UFC)
Facebook Prelims
Jonathan Brookins vs. Vagner Rocha
Sean Loeffler vs. Buddy Roberts
Anton Kuivanen vs. Justin Salas
Bernardo Magalhaes vs. Tim Means
