Birdman Jeb Corliss Releases Video of Horrific Crash
Oddities, Outdoor Sports February 25th. 2012, 12:45pmThis would be why we don’t get near cliffs, much less leap from them in aerodynamic attire. While filming a jump in his flying squirrel suit from South Africa’s Table Mountain for HBO, “Birdman” Jeb Corliss crashed into an outcrop of rocks travelling at 120mph. Corliss broke both legs, but saved his life by opening his emergency parachute in time. Ouch.

After turning his legs into pudding, having the awareness, and focus, to find the parachute release was crazy impressive. I watched just that act a few times as I can’t believe how reflexive it seemed to be for him.

This is truly a death-defying activity. This guy is not going to die of old age.
