Joe Paterno is No Longer the Winningest Coach in Major College Football History Due to Mark Emmert's Decision

With Mark Emmert and the NCAA stripping away Penn State wins from 1998-2011 from Joe Paterno – 111 victories – he tumbles way down the list and is now left with 298 wins.
That leaves Grambling’s Eddie Robinson (now deceased) as No. 1 in major college football (408 wins), followed by Bobby Bowden (377) and Bear Bryant (323).
