Ricky Rubio Returns Just in Time For the Heat, Thunder and Knicks
By Jason McIntyre
Ricky Rubio, who hasn’t played basketball in nine months, will return for the Timberwolves tonight against the Mavericks, the franchise announced.
In March, Rubio tore his ACL against the Lakers. The injury forced him to miss the Olympics – Spain could have used him in the Gold medal loss to the US – but despite missing the final 25 games of the season, he still finished as runner-up for Rookie of the Year.
Twenty games into the season, The Timberwolves actually have done OK without Rubio (and Kevin Love, who missed some time): They’re 11-9 and tied for 6th in the West.
The timing, from a fan’s perspective, couldn’t be better: The Wolves play the Heat, Thunder and Knicks in the next eight days.
