FBI Has Raided Pilot Flying J Headquarters, the Company Run By New Browns Owner Jimmy Haslam, Twice in Last Two Days
By Jason Lisk
FBI and IRS agents conducted a search warrant at Pilot Flying J Headquarters yesterday in Knoxville, Tennessee. They returned again today to execute another search warrant, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel. Pilot Flying J is the company of Jimmy Haslam, the new Browns owner, who serves as the CEO. It is the largest travel center (mega gas stations/restaurants/restrooms) operator in the country. This is likely about more than the Pecan logs.
Haslam released a statement yesterday:
“The FBI secured our headquarters today and informed us they are investigating Pilot Flying J. We will cooperate appropriately with any and all external investigations and conduct our own. I believe and trust there has been no wrongdoing. The integrity of our company always has been job No. 1.”
Federal agents told employees to turn off their electronic devices and computers, and sequestered 200 employees. One employee said that “they came in pretty quick — it wasn’t a calm event.”
