Spain Scored 10 Goals vs. Tahiti Today, Here Are All of Them [Video]

Spain fielded a “B” Team Thursday vs. Tahiti in the Confederations Cup. Said “B” Team included the likes of Juan Mata, Javi Martinez, David Villa, David Silva, Santi Carzola and Fernando Torres. These scrubs did enough to propel La Roja to a 10-0 victory, in a comically lopsided affair in which the reigning World Cup champs barely looked like they were even trying for long portions of the match.
Never has a game felt this anticlimactic in an international tournament. There weren’t even any goals that you’d say were very memorable. Instead it was more of the Spanish players strolling through a non-existent Tahitian line of defense and slotting it into an empty net.
Torres finished with four goals, Villa had a hat trick, Silva added a pair and Mata chipped in with a single, solitary tally. Torres however missed a penalty kick in the second half, so we can still laugh at him for being the worst.
At least this Spain fan enjoyed herself. Thankfully Spain decided to actually attempt shots on goal instead of passing the ball back-and-forth to each other, as is its wont to do.
Credit to Tahiti for sticking it out for 90 humiliating minutes. As any youth coach would say, you guys are winners for trying your hardest – here’s your participation trophy. Joking aside, Tahiti is basically an amateur side and thoroughly earned their lap of honor from the crowd at Rio’s Maracana Stadium.
