Aaron Rodgers spoke today about Ryan Braun (via Journal-Sentinel) and his vigorous defense of the Milwaukee Brewers player a couple of years ago. Rodgers even went so far as to offer to wager a year’s salary to a fan who questioned him about Braun on Twitter. (not a bet, though).

"“I was shocked, I really was, just like many of you were,” Rodgers said in a jam-packed press gathering in front of his locker after the Packers’ first training camp practice. “I was backing up a friend. He looked me in the eye on multiple occasions and repeatedly denied these allegations and said they were not true. “So, it is disappointing, not only for myself as a friend, but for obviously Wisconsin sports fans, Brewer fans, really baseball fans. It doesn’t feel great being lied to like that and I’m disappointed in the way it all went down.”"

Rodgers added that he did not regret backing up a friend, but should have probably used a more measured approach. He also said that he is not sure if he will continue his business deal with Braun, as the two have currently lent their name to a restaurant named “8-twelve”.

Rodgers also addressed the Greg Jennings shot at him, kind of, by saying that he was “concerned with the opinions of the guys in this locker room.”
