Jason Sudeikis Plays Ted Lasso in 'An American Coach in London' [Video]

Jason Sudeikis has a new movie opening, “We’re the Millers.” NBC recently acquired the rights to air the English Premier League in America. How to promo two birds with one stone? Easy, create fictional Texas football coach Ted Lasso and have him try to coach EPL side Tottenham Hotspur in the four-minute “An American Coach in London.”

Although the clip’s one-note premise — an American ignorant to the EPL — isn’t exactly all that fresh, it’s still funny thanks to Sudeikis selling the part. There also a couple good digs at the Dallas Cowboys and Liverpool at the same time. If you’re in the mood for some jokes about Wales, this is your place.

For soccer fans, this is another encouraging sign from NBC which is going all-in on trying its best to promote the Premier League for the American audience.
