Ben Roethlisberger: According to police in Milleyvegas, "[Roethlisberger's] lawyer has not made him available. [Garland] has cooperated in every way, with the exception of the interview." As others have noted, why aren't media members [read: ESPN talking heads] on TV talking about how Ben needs to talk to the police and cooperate? And how can a lawyer simply make a player 'unavailable?' Next time the police want to talk to you about sexual assault, try making yourself "unavailable." The police in the sticks of Georgia are fumbling this one. [Kelly Naqi] (33)

Erin Andrews: Her creepy stalker, Michael David Barrett, was only sentenced to 27 months in jail for taking those peephole videos of the sideline reporter and putting them online. Here's video of Andrews exiting the courtroom and telling reporters that she's less than happy with the result. In the courtroom, when Barrett asked for leniancy, Andrews said, "You violated me, and you violated all women. You are a sexual predator, a sexual deviant, and they should lock you up." We would have set the minimum jail sentence at five years to deter future creeps from this kind of behavior. [PI] (57)
Ben Roethlisberger: "A couple of years ago I heard from a woman who said that Roethlisberger blew off a Make-A-Wish kid. When KDKA-TVs News Director, John Verrilli, was shown the email, he made it clear that it was a story that his news department would not be pursuing. I eventually got in contact with the parents of the little girl who the jackass snubbed. They said the story was true but they didn’t want to go public with it for their daughter’s sake. The little girl had cystic fibrosis. As I said, Bad citizen who needs a comeuppance." Ben Roethlisberger: "The patrol officer who initially investigated the sexual assault complaint against Ben Roethlisberger posed for photographs with the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback an hour before his accused filed her complaint. Sgt. Jerry Blash, who subsequently wrote a sparse incident report that did not name Roethlisberger, had a close-up picture taken with the celebrity football player inside a local bar and, later, outside the bar with a group of other officers." Antonio Cromartie: "The Jets fronted Antonio Cromartie $500,000 of his 2010 salary to help him clean up his lingering paternity issues. Cromartie, 25, who's due to make $1.7 million this season in the final year of his five-year, $12 million contract, has some outstanding paternity payments to make. Because players don't begin collecting on their salary until the first week of the regular season, Cromartie needed money now to make the payments he needs to make." Yup, this move has disaster written all over it. Can't wait for his inevitable court appearance related to one of his baby-mamas in the middle of the postseason. [NY Post] (20)
Ben Roethlisberger bought a vacation home in bucolic Reynolds Plantation in Georgia upon recommendation from the Steelers’ offensive coordinator. Gated community, controlled environment, no media presence – about an hour outside of Atlanta and Augusta – what could possibly go wrong? Friday, a 20-year-old Georgia College & State student accused him of sexual assault after Big Ben’s night of barhopping in nearby Milledgeville. When Roethlisberger was named in a civil lawsuit last summer accusing him of rape, the troglodytes in Pittsburgh rallied around their hero, going so far as to harass the accuser. This time?
