Sammy Sosa’s New Face

College Football, Former Athletes, Halloween 37 Comments »

sammy-sosa-looks-scary-as-hellThis photo was posted on SI.com yesterday; there is no indication that it was in any way doctored. His lady friend’s breasts? That’s another story. We’re punting on the roundup and ballin’ this weekend.

If you’re looking for early morning laughs, this should do the trick: Boise State 45, Louisiana Tech 35. The Bulldogs were just 3-5. And the Broncos want to know why they’re disrespected?

OK, Clooney, Redford. Here are some more girls in Halloween costumes for you to argue about. And to make sure this isn’t a completely non-sports related post, here’s Blackhawks’ captain Jonathan Toews and winger Adam Burish dressed up as Harry and Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber. Over here, a less dudeish version of the costume. Read the rest of this entry »

Throw Eggs, It’s Devil/Cabbage/Mischief Night

And here, we, GO! It’s the biggest sports weekend in the history of the world. On Sunday the NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB will play games on the same day for the first time. There are rivalry games. Favre returns to Green Bay. World Series games 3 and 4. A lot of college football. There’s even EPL on tomorrow.

Tonight – (21) WVU @ USF, Bulls @ Celtics, Mavs @ Lakers. And that’s just on ESPN. I’m sure there are other options in the NBA and NHL depending on your cable package.

Or just go out. It’s the night before Halloween. You’ve got an actual excuse to drink. And I hear there will be girls dressed in small outfits. Hernia and I will be here this weekend when we aren’t out painting the town red in our team costume. (I’m Tony Kornheiser and he’s Mike Wilbon.) Send tips kids. They make the world go ’round.

When I was a freshman in college I played this in my room before Halloween and my roommate hated it. Of course I played it again. And again. It still haunts him to this day.

What’s that? You’re still stuck at work? Let’s talk costumes. Read the rest of this entry »

Tyler Hansbrough – Hid under the couch from Dick Vitale, dressed as the unanimous number one.

Steve Phillips - handed out free agency advice to neighborhood trick-or-treaters, none of whom paid attention.

Group of Phillies Fans – fatally beat a child dressed as a sting ray and left another kid dressed as Raisin Bran Sun comatose.

Chris BermanBaracking his way to a McInterview. Surely I’m not the only one annoyed by Berman’s use of proper names as verbs and nouns. It does say something that on the eve of the “election of our lives”, Boomer will be interviewing the candidates.

Michael Irvin – dressed as a pimp to Cowboys team party, though no one was sure he was in costume or not. Read the rest of this entry »

Happy Halloween kids. Enjoy your weekends and party hard. (And safe of course) Ah… school girl… complete with time-lapse here… Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to find some welding goggles to complete my lothario-aviator-pirate look.

Patrick Imig will be here this weekend so remember to send all your links and leftover candy his way. He’ll be blogging in some sort of wrestling costume, this much is certain.

Happy Halloween. What a great time of year. In case you missed it, I’ve been gratuitously posting pictures of sexy Halloween costumes on MLJ all week. It’s been a grand old time.

Now the weekend has come and it’s time to finally go out and see all those misguided girls seek attention wearing a one-time-use outfit. Hopefully, by Sunday afternoon you’ll be able to open your eyes again and enjoy some football. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to see Mike Singletary’s ass. Read the rest of this entry »
