Well, this is it. Canada wants to own the podium (Does it count if they buy the podium?) and the biggest of big deals for Canadians is the Gold Medal in hockey. They win tonight, they move on to face ‘Merica for another good old fashioned border war. Friend against friend. Brother against brother. Only one team stands between the United States and the Gold Medal game. That team is Finland and they just happen to be lead by the hottest goalie (/TBL’d) in the Olympics, Miikka Kiprusoff. In ice hockey, a hot goalie can carry you a long way. Team America’s goalie hasn’t been too shabby himself, as Ryan Miller has been outstanding during the Olympics, but Kiprusoff has been just a little bit better. Read the rest of this entry »
This is actually from two nights ago, but it kind of sums up the one-sided, 7-3 stomping Canada gave Russia last night after everyone was expecting an epic showdown. The quote of the night came from NBC analyst Mike Milbury, who after the game said “I was really disappointed that these guys came with their Eurotrash game,” in reference to Russia’s shoddy effort.
