LaMichael James was sentenced to 10 days in jail, but might not serve any time at all. "There's no shortage of community work that needs to be done, and actually, he's a very healthy, strong young guy and putting him on the other end of a shovel for a while, if it benefits the community, might be a good thing." Did he attack these women with a shovel? Just think, all that yard work for what was originally just a little "menacing, strangulation and assault." (ESPN) (9)

Robert Sormanti, one of the guys that wears the Pat Patriot costume, was arrested in a prostitution sting yesterday in Rhode Island. So, yeah, the Patriots' mascot was arrested for prostitution. I really have nothing to add to this. (Providence Journal) (6)
Len Elmore: ESPN's terrific basketball announcer is also a lawyer (Harvard Business School, and yes, that's relevant). He was a sports agent for five years. "I left the agent business because the environment was becoming toxic to my ethics and scruples. I was not going to jeopardize my reputation and license by even being associated with the industry, let alone attempt to remain competitive by conducting my business as many of my competitors did."
