Pac-10 football was on display at a track and field meet in Seattle last weekend. Oregon’s freshman running back and Pac-10 Offensive Freshman of the Year LaMichael James, who replaced LaGarrette Blount after this unfortunate incident, was the top collegiate finisher in the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.77 and placing third overall. Two days later, he got arrested. What will the NFL scouts care more about – the arrest or his blazing speed? (The northwest awaits action from Chip Kelly.) Read the rest of this entry »
Every week The Sports Hernia and Cousins of Ron Mexico will recap the top five stories of the week. Caster Semenya: The 18-year-old track star who is reportedly a man and a woman, could be the trigger that sparks World War III if Caster Semenya is ruled ineligible for further competition, according to South African Sport and Recreation Minister Makhenkesi Stofile. "She may be a hermaphrodite, but so what? She is still a girl ... a young girl enjoying growing up." Time Magazine has a new photo of her; she looks more like a runner than a cover girl.
