"The sophomore from Jeanette, Pa., stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 235 pounds. He’s almost as thick as Florida’s Tim Tebow, but faster. Pryor can make the same throws as Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford, but remains a threat to run … it’s no wonder Pryor bristles when he reads on the Internet that he can’t throw. “The media and all, whoever, said that I couldn’t throw the ball,” Pryor said. “But you saw today. The world saw today. I can throw the ball.”"

It’s too bad Pryor lost his top RB and his two most productive WRs, or he would be a serious contender heading into the season. Had The Big Three gone pro, this would have been Pryor’s to lose. We still think he could make it interesting this fall if he does something crazy, like throw for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000 (he had 1,311 and 631 last year, respectively, despite splitting duties – 60/40 ? – with senior Todd Boeckman).

The big worry is that the rebuilt defense that only has two seniors among the front seven isn’t able to stop anyone, and the Buckeyes rack up 4-5 losses and he’s pushed out of contention.

And as a reminder: Heading into last season, Tim Tebow was the heavy favorite to repeat, and two guys who finished ahead of him (McCoy and Bradford) weren’t on anyone’s radar at season’s start.

After spring’s worth of growth, Pryor ready to utilize all his gifts (SI)
