Worst Superhero Movies Of The Last 15 Years

Batman & Robin (1997)
This movie is the reason the list goes back 15 years. You just can’t talk bad movies without mentioning Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin. This movie is just an incredible trainwreck of celebrity and a (then) effed-out franchise. It would be 8 full years before Warner Brothers found a way to actually make a good Batman film.

The fact that Chris O’Donnell and Alicia Silverstone played such large roles really tell you how 90’s this movie really was. Batman & Robin goes to a whole other level because of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s totally over-the-top Mr. Freeze. This movie will live in infamy.

Mystery Men (1999)
I never actually saw this movie, but it looks really dumb. Amazingly, its the highest rated film of this entire group with both critics and audiences. However, the fact that Smashmouth’s All-Star was so closely associated with the film gets it a mention. Plus, I don’t believe this movie really does have any sort of cult following.

Daredevil (2003)
Kevin Smith once said that Ben Affleck could play the shark if they remade Jaws. That would probably go better than Daredevil. If you haven’t seen Daredevil yet, please make sure to check out the extended director’s cut. Apparently they let him put the story back in.

Catwoman (2004)
Halle Berry in a form-fitting cosplay outfit? Sounds good, right? Catwoman won the Razzie for Worst Film and Halle won a Razzie for Worst Actress. Nothing I could say would damn the film any further.

Jonah Hex (2010)
Dear lord, this movie was horrible. Luckily it was stupid enough to be fun. It’s PG-13 so Megan Fox keeps her clothes on. Will Arnett is in Jonah Hex, so you have to wonder just how in on the joke the rest of the cast was. Did the actors realize what they were doing? I’m guessing beyond Malkovich, no.

The Green Hornet (2011)
True story: I tried to watch The Green Hornet. Couldn’t do it. I think I got 3/4 of the way through it. Seth Rogan as a superhero? Cameron Diaz as a love interest? There is just nothing believable about this film.

The Green Lantern (2011)
Seriously, this movie is not good. After putting this post together, I’m starting to realize just how many shitty movies I watch. Some of them are fun, but some are punishment.
