Amack’s tackle total ranks as the sixth-highest at Air Force in a game and tied for the most in Mountain West Conference history.

His 23 tackles are tied for most in Division I Football Bowl Subdivision games this season and the most by an Air Force player in a game since 1988.

Other players who had outstanding defensive games this past weekend include:

• Clemson DE Andre Branch (pictured), who had 11 tackles and three sacks, in a 23-3 win over Virginia Tech;

• Rutgers LB Steve Beauharnais, who had nine tackles, a pair of sacks and an interception in a 19-16 double OT win against Syracuse;

Toledo DE T.J. Fantinikun, who had three tackles, 1.5 sacks and a key pass deflection in a 36-13 win over Temple.

Amack will be added to the 2011 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List. Five finalists for the Nagurski Trophy will be announced on Nov. 17.

The Bronko Nagurski Trophy will be presented to the best defensive player in college football on Dec. 12 by the FWAA and the Charlotte Touchdown Club at the Westin Hotel in Charlotte, N.C.
