Larry Fitzgerald Realizes He's Not Surrounded By A Great Deal Of Talent These Days

“Here’s the one small thing that everyone forgets about when Kurt (Warner) was here,” Fitzgerald said. “We had this other guy, what was his name? Oh, yeah. Anquan Boldin. I think he made a couple Pro Bowls or something. He was a decent player around these parts. I wasn’t here by myself. I had some talented guys around me.”

To deal with the loneliness and losing, he’s even turning to Winston Churchill quotes.

“Sometimes doing your best isn’t good enough. Sometimes you need to do what’s required,” Fitzgerald said. “(Special-teams coach) Kevin Spencer gave that (quote) to us a couple weeks ago, and it’s true. Sometimes your best isn’t good enough in the NFL, and sometimes you have to do what is required to win.”

The Cardinals host the 4-2 Steelers on Sunday. The last time these two met was Super Bowl XLIII. This season, Fitzgerald has 27 catches for 427 yards and two touchdowns. Early Doucet is Arizona’s second leading wide out. I don’t see the season turning around today.
