The team said it would hold open auditions for starring roles in their TV and online advertising campaign promoting their 2012 season.

The auditions will be held on Dec. 1 at Mullen’s on Carson, located on Pittsburgh’s South Side. There is no fee to audition. (Full details and pre-registration form here.)

According to Swann, a co-owner of the Power, “The fans are what make a franchise successful, so who better to represent us in our ads?”

Power management said that people who participate in the auditions will be asked to perform both improv and script readings. “They are encouraged to approach the auditions with a sense of fun, creativity and spontaneity, along with an irreverent sense of humor.”

Production of the final commercials and videos is scheduled to begin in January 2012. The advertising campaign will be locally produced by BrabenderCox and edited by Phenomenon Post.

Everyone who participates will receive a pair of tickets to a 2012 Power home game at CONSOL Energy Center.

“This is a great way for us to connect with our fans and show the town that we are truly their team,” owner Matt Shaner said in a statement.
