So what will become of Johnson, the free agent?

"Contract talks apparently broke down because Johnson wanted $7.5 million a year. That figure seemed fair for a player of his stature and production. After this latest gaffe, I can see why the organization would be reluctant to make a sizable investment. At this point, the Bills might have to slap a franchise tag on Johnson to keep him in Buffalo. That would be one year for $9.5 million. That doesn’t seem likely. If they’re not willing to pay him a big number for the long term, why do it for one season?"
