"The motorcyclist was transported by Charlotte County EMS to Peace River Regional Medical Center for a MedStar helicopter to transport him to Lee Memorial Hospital Trauma Center. “Literally the tire on the SUV ran over the driver’s head. Without the helmet, the gentleman would have been dead instantly,” said witness Scott Sugden."

Bush has been arrested and is charged with “fleeing the scene with serious injuries, driving with a suspended license with serious injuries, DUI with serious injuries and DUI with property damage.”

The 26-year-old’s career got off to a rough start and never recovered, due to problems with alcohol and injuries. Initially a shortstop, Bush was trying to make the Rays as a middle reliever. He was drafted ahead of Justin Verlander, Jared Weaver and Stephen Drew.
