Durante says he adopted the name “Durantula” for his “on-stage and performance persona” — and has used it to market “music, recordings, apparel, t-shirts, guitars, and related merchandise.”

The guitarist says he registered the “Durantula” trademark. He’s suing for damages and an injunction stopping KD from using the name.

Before we dismiss this, perhaps we should check out Durantula.com.

The evidence is pretty damning. With every basket Kevin Durant scores, he dilutes the Durantula brand. Because of Kevin Durant’s theft, you probably didn’t even know about the “Surrealistic Audio Visual for Non Conformists” that the real Durantula provides. That’s messed up. Hopefully, Durant’s off-court legal matter isn’t a distraction  for the Thunder tonight during Game 5.

In case you were wondering, here is some Durante-era Revolting Cocks. They’re pretty much the greatest band ever.
