Hector "Macho" Camacho Declared Brain Dead, According to Report

Former Boxer Hector “Macho” Camacho has been declared brain dead, after being wounded in the head and neck during a shooting in Puerto Rico. Reports also suggest he has been removed from life support.

"The fighter, who went by the nickname “Macho,” was shot in the head and neck on Tuesday night in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, after gunmen fired on the car in which the fighter was a passenger. The driver of the vehicle died. According to reports, Camacho, 50, was taken off life support. The bullets missed his brain, fractured two vertebrae. “His recovery would be a miracle,” a doctor told the paper. “Medically, there is nothing we can do.”"

Camacho has a career 79-6-3 record. He is a former champion in both WBO and WBC at the featherweight, lightweight and light welterweight divisions.
