Jan Vesely, the 6th overall pick in the 2011 draft, has played in 13 games for the Wizards so far.

Vesely, a rail thin power forward from the Czech Republic, has accumulated more fouls (34) than points (29) or rebounds (29).

Last week, David Aldridge of NBA.com had this to say about Vesely, who is only 22:

"At this rate, I don’t see Jan Vesely lasting five years in this league. Unless I am TOTALLY wrong on what he is. But the skillset I see is nothing. So I don’t know where they go from here….I don’t know what the plan is, I don’t know how they get better, I don’t see where this team goes in the next two or three years with this current group. I just don’t see it."

So he’s slightly better than Joe Alexander, the Bucks’ 8th pick in the 2008 draft, who lasted one season in the NBA?

Here’s a reminder of forwards who were drafted after Vesely in 2011:

* Bismack Biyombo, Charlotte, 7th
* Markieff Morris, Phoenix 13th
* Marcus Morris, Houston, 14th
* Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio 15th
* Chris Singleton, Washington, 18th
* Kenneth Faried, Denver, 22nd

Don’t think you could get anyone in the Washington front office to say with a straight face they’d rather have Vesely than any of those six players right now. What a mess.
