Newcastle defender Danny Simpson is “okay,” after being knocked unconscious and left bleeding on the ground during a 4:00 am brawl outside a fast food restaurant in Manchester. Simpson left the club where he was partying to get a kebab. He began arguing with a fellow customer and ended up punching a man, in his late 40s or 50s. Two off-duty bouncers jumped him as he tried to flee the scene in a taxi. One knocked him out cold.

"“He dropped to the floor and was half on the pavement, half on the road with blood pouring from his mouth. “He was in a bad way. It looked like he’d been knocked out. Everyone crowded round him. He was still breathing but not responsive. “Luckily he’d landed in the recovery position so we didn’t move him."

Witnesses claim the 26-year-old was inebriated and wanted everyone to know who he was. His girlfriend, Tulisa Constavlos, was on a vacation in Spain at the time.
