Utah High School Basketball Buzzer Beater Forces Overtime [Video]

Utah high school basketball doesn’t often get as crazy as it did Friday night when Olympus visited Herriman. Trailing 39-36 with just a few seconds remaining, Alec Johnson hit this running buzzer-beater to force overtime on Senior Night. For a moment, it was magical. Then Olympus won 49-45 in overtime and everyone was sad again.

In case you were away from the computer shoveling snow all weekend, there were a few buzzer-beaters in college basketball, too. Ben Brust of Wisconsin hit the best one. Scott Wood of North Carolina State beat the buzzer, and Clemson. Russ Smith of Louisville couldn’t beat the buzzer in any overtime, and the Cardinals lost.
