The Atlanta Braves are the hottest team in baseball right now, winners of 10 straight. The Braves have outscored their opponents 68-26 and out-homered them 25-7. The start isn’t just from the hot bats – the Braves lead baseball with a team ERA of 1.83.

Of course with baseball, it’s not about how you start but how you finish, and looking back over the past 28 years, no World Series team has started with more than 10 wins through the first 12 games other than the ’84 Tigers. So where does the Braves’ start rank in terms of best starts in history through 13 games?

1987 Brewers got off to a 13-0 start but didn’t make the playoffs after finishing 91-71.

1982 Braves started 13-0 with Dale Murphy and finished 89-73. They won the NL West but lost to the Cardinals in the NLCS.

1984 Tigers started 12-1 and went a staggering 35-5. They finished 104-58 with a World Series win over the Padres.

1966 Orioles got off to a 12-1 start, finished 97-63 and swept the Dodgers in the World Series.
