Toledo Mud Hens Will Wear Chewbacca Jerseys This Weekend

When you think of iconic Wookie sidekick Chewbacca, your next thought is obviously one thing: baseball jersey.
That’s what the Toledo Mud Hens are doing Saturday night against the Charlotte Knights as part of the Triple-A club’s ‘Star Wars Weekend.’ Fans are invited to dress up as their favorite Star Wars character and, naturally, the Toledo players will wear the Chewbacca jerseys.
Lost in the Star Wars headlines, the club is also giving out free kazoos to the first 3,000 fans for a post game ‘kazoo-a-long’ to the movies’ music.
People dressed Yoda costumes blowing on kazoos for nine innings? Sounds like a par-tay.
As creative of an idea as these jerseys are — the bandolier across the chest is a nice touch — they remain decidedly not movie quality.
