Watford and Leicester City squared off as part of a four team playoff for third place in the Championship League, with an opportunity to go to Wembley with a chance to promote to the Premier League next season and join Cardiff City and Hull City. Watford was leading 2-1 today, but at 2-2 on aggregate were in trouble when Leicester City was awarded a penalty kick in injury time. A PK goal there would have sealed Leicester City’s spot. Then this happened in one of the most dramatic soccer finishes possible, when Troy Deeney scored after the PK save in the 98th minute.
