Notre Dame had Brian Kelly make a Spotify playlist. The result is …interesting. It’s not clear how this mess happened, but we’re going to take a shot…
Kelly gets asked to make the playlist. He compiles a small list of Jackson Browne, James Taylor and Van Morrison tunes off the top of his head. His wife, thinking he needs something younger and cooler, adds the late 1990s gems “Smooth” and “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.” The project then gets sent to a 19-year-old, tone deaf intern/minion with no knowledge of pop music Pre-2009 who has vague instructions to “add some Springsteen and Bon Jovi.”
Before you ask. Yes, we can throw stones. Our iPod is stocked entirely with Beastie Boys deep cuts, Radiohead, Daft Punk, Sonic Youth and stuff you probably haven’t heard of. We have no idea how that Rihanna song got on our “Recently Played” list.
