Lee Westwood doinked one off the wicker basket flag stick on the 12th hole at Merion Golf Club during round 1 of the U.S. Open. The ball reacted like it hit a brick wall and rolled quite far away from the hole. Westwood eventually scored a double-bogey that took him from -3 and a tie for the lead to 1-under. Westwood’s day was cut short by weather after the 13th.
