Daniel Gibson, a free agent who most recently played with the Cleveland Cavaliers, has turned himself into police this morning in New Orleans on a second degree battery charge, as first reported by wdsu.com. Gibson is also married to singer Keyshia Cole. No details are available at this time on the victim or nature of the battery, but the report says that the incident occurred at the Essence Festival, which occurred over the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Cole was performing on Saturday Night at that music festival.

Daniel Gibson, who starred at the University of Texas, has played all of his career in Cleveland. He dropped to 10th in minutes from 6th the year before, as the team added Dion Waiters and Kyrie Irving in the last two drafts. Gibson will now have much bigger things to address than finding a role with another team.
