Arsenal promised massive, much needed signings this summer. The club has delivered virtually nothing. 19 players have left the club via transfer, release or loan. The one arrival is Yaya Sanogo, a 20-year-old and already injury-prone French striker, on a free transfer. The Gunners opened the season with a 3-1 loss to Aston Villa at home. The squad, perpetually thin and injury ravaged, faces an all-or-nothing home and home with Fenerbahce for a Champions League place. This disconsolate middle-aged Londoner, who “picked his side” long ago, has “had a f***ing nough.”
