Aaron Hernandez: Murder Weapon Tied to the 2012 Double Homicide Found

CBS 3 Springfield is reporting that the murder weapon used in the July 2012 double homicide of Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu has been located. Aaron Hernandez is a suspect in that previously unsolved crime and last we heard a grand jury was convening to hear the evidence.

The weapon in question was found when Jailene Diaz-Ramos was involved in a car accident on June 21st, and taken to the hospital. The police took inventory of her vehicle, including a .38 Smith and Wesson located within a black briefcase in the trunk. After ballistics testing, police confirmed it was the weapon used in the murder of Furtado and Abreu.

According to the court documents, Diaz-Ramos claimed the gun belonged to someone nicknamed “Chicago” who is a football player.
