Joe Flacco knows how much criticism comes with playing the quarterback position. Just this week, he has been at the center of a silly little controversy that had nothing to do with him other than his picture being used, when Denver fans got mad about his poster outside their stadium before opening night.

So while talking about that, Flacco told the Carroll County Times, “Being hated is not a bad thing.” He then went on to bring Johnny Manziel into the conversation, equating how much criticism the Heisman winner has received recently. “I don’t know if I’ll be too popular for this,” Flacco added. “But I don’t know how I really felt about Johnny Manziel, but I feel like now everyone hates him. He’s quickly becoming my favorite player in college football.”
