Boston College Defenseman Makes Extremely Unorthodox Game-Preserving Save

Boston College defenseman Ian McCoshen snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with this quick-thinking, possibly legal play against Minnesota in overtime. As Taylor Cammarata’s shot made its way toward the open net for a sure game-winning goal, a stickless McCoshen snatched it out of mid-air and fired it backward to a teammate.
Upon review, the no-goal decision was upheld and Boston College would go on to win in a shootout.
Legal or not, it was an impressive bit of improvisation.
