Drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers Received Death Threats After Wiping Butt with Brazilian Soccer Jersey

Word to the wise: if you’re one of the millions of people hoping to attend the World Cup next summer in Brazil, don’t do what Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith did last week.

The Will Ferrell doppleganger gave a drumming clinic in the city of Belo Horizonte and mugged for the crowd, wiping his butt with a jersey of Flamengo — a club from Rio which arguably is the most popular in the country. As you’d guess, it didn’t go too well and Smith received death threats for the stunt.

It appears both sides have come to their senses. Smith apologized and has since posted this photo on the Chili Pepper’s Instagram account:
