Anthony Bennett Scored a Career-High, Dunked After the Buzzer in 29-Point Cavs' Loss
Anthony Bennett scored a career high 6 points during the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 124-95 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. His scorching 3-11 performance raised his shooting percentage from .048 to .125, but the unquestionable highlight of his night came at the very end of the 29-point loss.
Minnesota backup center Gorgui Dieng stood with the ball on his hip as the final seconds ticked off the clock. That’s when the #1 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft stepped up his defense. Bennett stole the ball from Dieng, took a powerful power dribble and threw down a thunderous dunk as the buzzer sounded. SO CLOSE! If only the shot (or steal) had counted. Bennett could say he was shooting .156. Imagine his shot chart with one extra make!
