Kyle Brodziak saw a 30-game goal-less streak come to an end in a very rare way on Thursday night. With the Wild leading the Sabres 3-1 late in the 3rd period, Buffalo pulled goalie Ryan Miller. Brodziak found himself on a breakaway and was tripped before he could get a shot off on the empty net. Without shooting – and without the puck actually going anywhere near the net – Brodziak was automatically awarded the goal, rather than take a penalty shot against no one.
