Florida St. Wins National Championship, Gets Rewarded With Worst Championship Hat Ever Made

Championship hat design is a somewhat tricky business. On one hand, you don’t want to get too fancy or steer too far off the road. Remember when the Steelers won the Super Bowl only to be rewarded with a championship hat that was bizarrely branded in Seahawks colors? That was an abomination.

But you also don’t want to tighten up and became too conservative. It’s kind of like coaching. And what we have here would be the Rich Kotite of championship hats.

Sadly, a conversation pretty damn close to this actually occurred:

Actual Paid Designer: How about NATIONAL CHAMPIONS in all caps and in a gigantic font so it’s still legible from across the stadium?
NCAA Marketing Guy: Done.

Incredible.
