Maxim Spends "High Five-Figures" to Heat the Red Carpet for Their Super Bowl Party

Maxim’s two-night Super Bowl party begins this evening at Espace in Manhattan, and the magazine had to incur some hefty expenses to ensure that the ladies in attendance are able to sport skimpy attire undeterred by the threat of frostbite. As the Miami Herald details:

"Temperatures in Manhattan on Friday and Saturday nights will be below 40. That’s prompted organizers to spring for two, room-sized generators that will warm the entryway — an unexpected expense in the high five-figures. Like everyone else, the people at Maxim are trying to make the best of it. They’ll have an ice luge — inside, of course — and will distribute hand warmers to those in line."

That all sounds par for the course, except for the notion that it is somehow “unexpected” that temperatures would drop below 40 in New York in January. That type of occurrence should’ve probably been accounted for in the original budget.
