Clayton Kershaw is the best pitcher in baseball. He’s also, recently, become a very rich man. Given baseball’s profile in America, Kershaw still remains relatively unknown to the public at large.

If you walked past him down the street, would you recognize the Texas-born southpaw if he wasn’t wearing a Dodgers cap? (Or even if he was.)

In an effort to bump up his Q-rating, Kershaw is popping up in FOX’s New Girlthe show our pal Mike Francesa wouldn’t watch if you paid him — in the episode airing after the Super Bowl this Sunday. If this clip FOX released is to be believed Kershaw has one line: “I love you. Hi I’m Clayton Kershaw, I’m a Los Angeles Dodger.”

Whether or not this is a nod to the best line ever uttered by a professional athlete on television remains to be seen.
